Vegetarian Pita Pizza with Haitian Epis

Looking for a fast, flavorful meal for lunch or dinner? This vegetarian pita pizza recipe is a simple way to enjoy pizza without the heavy tomato sauce. Instead of marinara, it uses Haitian epis as the base, which gives the pizza a bold, savory flavor in just minutes.

Haitian epis is a traditional seasoning blend made from fresh herbs, garlic, onions, peppers, and spices. It’s commonly used in Haitian cooking to flavor rice, beans, soups, and vegetables. When you spread epis on pita bread, it acts like a sauce—similar to tomato sauce—but with a brighter,
more herbal taste. That makes this a great tomato-free pizza recipe for people who want something different or can’t eat tomatoes.

This recipe is great for Haitian cooks who already love epis, and it’s also perfect for anyone new to Caribbean flavors. With spinach, vegetarian sausage, red onion, and mozzarella, this vegetarian pita pizza recipe is balanced, healthy, and easy to customize.
