Apple Puff Pastry Recipe (Rose-Shaped Dessert)

This easy apple puff pastry recipe is a simple way to turn basic ingredients into a beautiful dessert. Made with thinly sliced apples, warm cinnamon, and flaky puff pastry, this recipe looks fancy but is easy enough for anyone to make at home. You don’t need special tools or baking skills to get great results.

The apples are softened so they bend easily and roll into the pastry without breaking. As the puff pastry bakes, it turns golden and crisp while the apples become tender and lightly sweet. A creamy cinnamon sauce adds extra flavor and helps bring everything together. Baking the pastries in a muffin tin helps them
hold their rose shape and keeps them neat and evenly cooked.

This apple puff pastry dessert is perfect for holidays, dinner parties, or a cozy night at home. It also makes a lovely Valentine’s
Day dessert
, thanks to its rose-like shape and elegant look.
Serve it warm with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of extra sauce for a treat that tastes just as good as it looks.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Remove puff pastry from the freezer and allow it to thaw until pliable.
  2. Wash the apples, cut them in half, and remove the cores. Slice the apples very thin (a mandoline works well).
  3. Place apple slices in a microwave-safe bowl, cover with water, and microwave for 4 minutes, or until soft and flexible. Drain and pat dry.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together condensed milk, Madame Sarah Vanilla Extract, Madame Sarah Almond Extract, powdered sugar, and Madame Sarah Ground Cinnamon until smooth.
  5. Lightly roll out each puff pastry sheet and cut each into 6 equal strips.
  6. Spread a thin layer of the cinnamon sauce onto each pastry strip.
  7. Arrange 7–9 apple slices along one long edge of each strip, with the peel side facing outward.
  8. Fold the pastry over the apples lengthwise and spread a small amount of sauce on the inside layer.
  9. Starting at one end, gently roll the pastry into a spiral to form a rose shape.
  10. Spray a muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray and place each apple rose into a cup.
  11. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until puff pastry is golden brown and fully cooked.
  12. Let cool slightly, then drizzle with extra sauce and garnish with powdered sugar and a pinch of cinnamon before serving.
